Windows and Mac users: Many computers connect to shared drives (such as alphabetically titled drives on Windows (for example, an H:\ drive), or a networked share on Mac OS X) that use files.umn.edu, sometimes known as Active Directory Shares. The information stored here will not be available during the outage period. The maintenance is being performed in order to increase capacity and improve the infrastructure. The date and time were selected as it was determined to be the least disruptive for most users. If you know that you will need access to the files and folders you store on a shared drive on Aug. 16 between 6 a.m. and noon, please make arrangements to save the files in another location. Received an incident on Tuesday April 9th, that MediaHub wasn't sending email's to end users notifying them that their video had been processed. A problem was created and the Linux administration team had to revert an openssl upgrade that they deployed on June 8. Once this occurred, the system was back on and each user received their missing email from MediaHub. The log showed no missing files. Seven users were impacted by this outage.

This only affects Data Center networks/VLANs that are protected by the current firewall modules (FWSM.) The outage should be less than 1 minute but could be longer if there are any unforeseen issues and the entire change window is reserved for troubleshooting.
